Standing 6’4” and weighing in at 250 pounds, Reiji Sanada boasts an intimidating presence to be sure. His hair is dark brown and worn slicked back with some subtle spiking to it. It is especially short on the sides and back. Obviously Japanese in descent, he does not fit the normal ethnic stereotypes of easterners in terms of height or build. Having pushed himself to physical excellence in his chosen field (martial arts), Sanada has next to no body fat in his powerfully muscular frame. Along with hard, well defined muscles, Reiji’s body displays numerous small scars over various sections of his body. The ones of greatest note are several large, jagged scars running vertically up his right forearm.

Weaponry-
Sanada’s skill in unarmed combat have always allowed him to easily contend with his opponents so he rarely carries a weapon. However, part of his training did involve weapons training so he will occasionally implement twin steel tonfa should the situation properly call for it.
Clothing-
Reiji’s manner of dress is relatively unremarkable, generally consisting of white sneakers and jeans in addition to whatever upper body wear is adequate for the weather. He does have a certain preference for black and navy blue long sleeve shirts and has a habit of pushing the sleeves up to just below his elbows. When he knows that he will be fighting, he adopts a far more traditional manner of dress consisting of the classic white karate gi. The long sleeves are rolled up past his elbows and his last name is emblazoned in black kanji on the left breast.

Having spent his life dedicated entirely to the martial arts, Reiji Sanada is a truly terrifying combatant at close range. With speed, power, and reflexes honed to their peak, he is capable of easily fending of armed opponents and engage multiple targets at once. Several feats of his physicality include being able to bench press 700 pounds and sprinting 100 yards in under ten seconds (Cat D stats forum-wise though below that in speed). Through his obsessive exploration into unlocking and mastering the secrets of his trade, Reiji has gained the ability to assess the weakest point of any target and attack it with brutal force sufficient to destroy wood, stone, and even various metals. When examining Sanada’s unarmed fighting skills as a whole he is a frightening testament to the skill and lethality that can be achieved through proper dedication focused with natural talent and can arguably be called one of the most skilled practitioners of martial arts on the planet if not the best. The foundation of his style and the moniker by which he still goes, is and always will by the hyper violent Kyokushin Karate. Having devoted his lifestyle to the perfection of his karate, Reiji has next to no skill in other fields or trades making him anything but well-rounded.
All of this aside, Reiji’s greatest weapon boils down to one thing: The Mach Strike. Arguably the ultimate culmination of mankind’s expression through martial arts, Sanada is both the creator of the attack and the only normal man on Earth with knowledge of how to perform it. When you break it down, all strikes derive their power from momentum being channeled and increased along numerous joints working in unison. The ultimate example is a bull whip utilizing its’ extreme fluidity to break the sound barrier at the point where the momentum is finally released. Applying this concept to his own anatomy, Reiji has learned how to channel the power of his entire body from his toes, up through his leg and spinal column, and finally through the joints in his arm and finally into his fist. With this huge number of joints all working together in perfect sequence; Sanada is actually capable of breaking the speed of sound with his reverse punch and create a sonic boom. Not only does the opponent receive the full brunt of Reiji’s own substantial muscular power, they are also subject to the monstrous force of a sonic boom at point blank range. The secret to reaching these insane speeds actually lies predominately in meditation and imagination. By forcing himself to imagine the major bones in his legs and arms are segmented like his spine, Reiji can artificially create additional joints to reach the necessary speed for the Mach Strike.
However, that same method comes with a great price. Even though the brunt of the sonic boom is directed at the opponent, a great deal of strain is put on Sanada’s arm when using it simply because the reality of his bones does not match those in his mind’s eye and they cannot withstand repeated shocks. The limit he has currently reached is three consecutive Mach Strikes each with mounting strain on his arm. The first is enough to bring him momentarily to his knees from a combination of exhaustion and pain. The second strike’s feedback will shatter the bones in Reiji’s hand. The third use puts such strain on his already injured arm that it will actually cause the muscle tissue to rupture as it tears itself apart. The last time this occurred left large scare across his right forearm and required several intense surgeries and recuperation periods to regain proper use of his arm.

Reiji is a man possessed with a deep hunger. He hungers for power not in the political or economic sense or even power over others. Reiji Sanada hungers for power in complete dominion over his own body. He is obsessed with the acquisition of strength simply for the acquisition of strength itself. His end goal is simple; to stand atop the world as the greatest in his chosen area of expertise, unarmed combat. Steadfast and highly dedicated, Reiji does not waver in his ambitions or goals and has since garnered a reputation for never withdrawing or giving up on an objective. At the same time he presents himself with an arrogant aloofness. His greatest power comes in his absolute belief that he is the best there is and is eager to prove it at the slightest provocation. His overbearing confidence and lack of general maturity lead him to often mock and insult his opponents. It quickly becomes apparent when meeting Sanada that he thrives on witty banter and attention. All in all he fits the common image of natural born talent arrogantly testing its’ own limits. That being said, within the arrogant boy lies the potential to blossom into the predominant master of the fist in both body AND mind.

Even before he was born, Reiji Sanada's path in life had been all but established for him. His father, Kaoru Sanada, was a devoted master of traditional combat style karate originating in Japan. As the owner of the largest, and arguably the most respected, martial arts school in the country, Kaoru cast a powerful shadow as he drove each and every student under his care to their highest potential. Unsatisfied at how the ancient combat arts were being dulled and diluted with time, the elder Sanada implemented training techniques that skated the borders of legal through the use of real weapons and dangerous strengthening exercised. Even as a child, Reiji was no exception to these. Seen as the future face of karate for the masses, Kaoru ensured that Reiji would be prepared and thus treated him even more harshly than his other students. Shuffled from exercise to exercise, kata to kata, sparring session to sparring session, Reiji's natural talent soon came to the forefront and he rocketed past his fellow students in skill despite gross age and experience gaps. Mastering each technique his father presented his with, it was not long before Reiji's ego swelled along with his muscles until finally Kaoru had nothing left to pass on to his son despite Reiji's potential rising higher by the day.
Content that he had light the fire of karate within his son, Kaoru resumed his own personal training and dismissed Reiji from the main gym in Tokyo, Japan to travel and expand his horizons. Eager to demonstrate the true potential of his art form, Reiji left the country to explore foreign shores and take his fighting to an even higher level. Despite encountering a great variety of styles, opponents, and experiences, Sanada was still not satisfied with the challenges presented to him in the public light and so turned to a far more dangerous stage; the underground. Through a combination of bravado, reputation, and outright arrogance, Reiji was able to strong arm his way into the world of illegal gambling and fights without refs or rules. In those underground rings where vile men won and lost small fortunes, Reiji finally discovered the rush he had been seeking. It was there that he encountered not only fighters actually worthy of his time, but beasts straight out of his old bedtime stories. The fighting organizers had followed in the footsteps of other small time operations of ill repute and began to utilize ghouls and lesser vampires to liven up their favorite pass time. Granted, they were lowly creatures barely capable of calling themselves nosferatu but Reiji didn't care so long as there was a fight and a fun time to be had.

Music blared in the dingy locker room where old light bulbs flickered weakly. A single man sat on the bench there before his open locker clothed in white. A simple black belt hung over his shoulder as he leaned forward, his elbows braced against his knees deep in thought. Finally, the door opened and the grizzled "ref", if he could be called that, entered the room and announced that he was finally up. His fight was meant to be the highlight of the night so it was expected that there would be quite a few warm up rounds but he was getting antsy. Rising to his feet he quickly bound the belt around his waist and made for the exit. Brushing past the older man, he flashed a confident grin and scratched the back of his head. "You look worried there old man. Relax and learn to enjoy life a bit will ya?" Reiji said rounding the corner and leaving the aged referee to his own devices.
The walk to the ring was a short one. A simple stroll down a dimly lit concrete hallway and he'd be there in the spotlight again. God was he going to enjoy this. The schmuck they had him up against tonight used to have quite the reputation around the professional scene as "the real deal" of kung fu masters. Some drug problems had ruined the bastard's career and eventually sent him here with the rest of the scum. As far as Sanada was concerned he'd been a sham from the very begining, hell he wasn't even worth a real punch but a fight was a fight. Entering the medium sized arena to the sound of the crowd's cheers and drunken behavior, Reiji generally pushed them from his mind while he sized up the "master" awaiting him in the ring. About 5'8", probably around 200 pounds. The guy was in decent shape and he'd taken a good stance immediately upon seeing the karate progidy. Poor sap was too nervous for this kind of thing. Sanda flashed him a smirk and hitched his thumbs into his belt line while he waited for the bell. "Hey Bruce Lee, ya know what they're calling this fight? Bamboo spear meets nuclear weapon. Guess which one you are." he called to the kung fu user, cocking a brow to drive home the insults.
To his credit, the chinese fighter didn't seem rattled by the banter and held his guard firm. Finally the bell rang signalling the start of the fight but to the confusion of the crowd it was accompanied by a wet cracking sound. Their answer followed soon enough via a pained gasping from the former star of chinese fist fighting. Reiji stood a foot from the man, his fist buried up to the wrist in his rib cage. Lightning fast, the karate user had closed the distance following the bell and all but shattered half of his opponent's rib cage with a low hooking kidney blow. Still grinning jovially, he withdrew his hand and exhaled sharply as the kung fu master dropped to the ring's floor with a wimper. "Man I love my job."
