Karak Tanasi Empty
PostSubject: Karak Tanasi   Karak Tanasi EmptySun Feb 10, 2013 8:59 pm

Have you see the OVA or read the manga series of Hellsing? If so how far have you gotten? If not please direct your attention to YouTube, and watch OVA 1-4 at least. Warning: If you have watched the anime we require you watch the OVA, or read the manga. The anime is not canon. This is not our opinion. This is the law set down by the creator of Hellsing, Kouta Hirano.ayup

Name: Karak Tanasi

Age: 29

Gender:Male

Physical appearance: Karak is somewhat in shape, though these days he hasn’t done much to moderate that. He is lanky and standing at 6”0’ weighing at 64kg. His eyes are a deep emerald with too many emotions rushing through them at any one time. Karak’s raven black hair hangs loosely around the top of his jaw, with each turn of his head it can become hard to see facial features behind that messy sheet of hair. Un-becoming of someone previously in the armed forces, Karak hasn’t been disciplined with his facial hair and it tends to vary in length depending on how his life is going at whatever point in time. At the moment his beard is but a stubble around his chin and up his jawline, stopping at the end of his jaw.

Shadows under his eyes scream of long nights of no sleep, while his cheekbones are high and proud. His jaw is set and angular, while his ears are chipped in places and almost always hidden under the blanket of raven black hair. Karak’s shoulders are broad but not anything too much, his muscles are tight but thinning too quickly. He walks with a limp in his otherwise smooth gait, by-product of a fight with a subordinate in one of his later days in service. Karak has received many scars through service but none more noteworthy than the one stretching from his right shoulder across his back to rest just beneath his left hip bone. His skin is otherwise quite pale in comparison to the dull red scars.

Clothing of choice: Karak’s clothing is more depicted by his line of work than of any sense of ‘fashion’. At the moment he currently wears a long sleeved sweater that is tight across his still muscled chest. The sweater is as dark as night with a few stains here and there, a lot of them looking suspiciously like blood stains. It has no clear pictures but has grey stripes going horizontal from the bottom to the top of the ‘v’ necked sweater. His shorts go just below his knees, hovering about the middle of his shins. The material is a dark grey denim that has been torn beyond repair with strands hanging out every which way.

The belt that holds up these torn three-quarter jeans is otherwise…un-touched by the rest of his appearance, the belt buckle shines in any light while the brown leather glistens (losing its ‘new’ glow). The buckle is nothing special and is shaped in a square but it does stand out with Karak’s current appearance. He is only wearing laced boots at the moment that show a strong hybrid look between hiker shoes and military issue boots. The boots display a range of colours varying from black to grey to white, his right boot also has what looks like blood splatter up the left hand side. (Ok so this is just how he looks like at the moment, he isn’t staying in the clothes long, as you can see it is quite dirty and unsanitary for ex-services)

Weaponry of choice: Though Karak has been trained and disciplined in many a weapon and had ample time to choose his favoured weaponry, Karak still refuses to carry weapons about on himself for too long. Not thinking himself above mortal combat, more on the contrary he wouldn’t want to use a weapon or be too familiar with any one weapon that would give his opponent any distinct advantage. So rather than carry a weapon himself, he prefers to use his surroundings to his advantage…as his weaponry of choice.

Race: Human

Abilities: Karak’s abilities are many but definitive, his countless hours of training in his earlier years turned him into a formidable soldier a trait he still hasn’t lost. He knows how to effectively use most 19th century firearms, in fact he could probably tell you some funny stories about quite few of them. He excels with long range fire support, as it allows him to survey the battlefield and figure out where key figures need to go or what options are available and what the consequences could be. Though a position far back is just luxury and allows him to think more clearly, he can still survey from the frontlines if he so wished it would just be a matter of time. Therein lies his most powerful skill and ability…tactics, Karak’s mind has a way of processing things, that isn’t the normal way people actually do.

His disciplined mind can ignore pain or distractions for the desire to crush any enemy with a few swift and decisive movements. Figuring out his opponent’s weaknesses and exploiting them to their fullest and not breaking his concentration until his objective is complete (Though a severed limb is all in all the same anyone’s concentration would break if they were enduring excruciating pain). His mind can work fast in order to make note of everything around him... whether or not he can make use of what he notes is another story. Apart from his mental capability Karak is a built man and capable of holding his own in a brawl or running as fast as any normal person. His hearing is also pretty sensitive for a normal human, he is capable of hearing something from 50m away if it is anything more than a whisper. Whether it was something gained during service or birth, Karak has never really noted it as anything significant.

Organization: Unaffiliated (Intention to rp into either geese or hellsing)

Personality: Quiet, reserved and brooding fits half of Karak’s personality in a can. Off the battlefield he can be a little too quiet and more of a fly on the wall than anything. Though on the battlefield he is assertive and relentless in something he wants to accomplish, quick to correct cowardice within ranks through any means. Though all the muss and fuss of battlefields is in Karak’s past life, now he takes a laugh were he can find one and tries to get on the inside of the crowd to find out what’s going on. He constantly goes looking for challenges for him to solve, varying from war to puzzle games to a winning strategy (falls into the same category as war but watev). He finds the thought of a challenge stimulating even where others may find it draining, if there is a problem he can’t solve immediately, chances are he will stay up late at night pacing until he comes to a conclusion.

Rank: Strategist

Biography: 1975 Karak was born, born in Britain with a father in mainstream British security forces and a mother who put her career on hold to care for their newly born son. Through his father’s pay, he was able to go to school and learn as much as he could, at the time they lived in Liverpool barely recovering from the conflict in the civil war. It was a quieter lifestyle than the ones that previous children had been subject to over the years. Karak was a happy child, when he started school his mother went back to work as an accountant for some business that he’d never cared to ask for. The only thing he worried himself about was seeing his father and mother every afternoon. He would go to school, work as hard as he could so when he came home he could tell them about what he’d done what he’d learnt and how hard he’d worked for it. He always waited for that smile of approval from his father’s face. He loved it, he always wanted to see his father smile, it made him the happiest kid ever.

The IRA bomb attack against the Brighton hotel however changed his lifestyle, his father had been caught in the crossfire between activists, he was taken to a hospital to be treated for severe internal injuries and third degree burns to 40% of his body. For the first time in a while, Karak was a quiet child. Taken to the hospital by a mother in hysterics, they both cried by his bedside as his father was wracked with numbing pain. Knowing he was on his deathbed, Karak father held out his hand to his boy, “Treat every day as if it’s your last Karak, I love you and your mother…always”. Those were the last words he’d heard from his father. He didn’t care much for the important names that had lost their lives as well, his father had died...and that was all that registered in his mind. He was ushered from the room as his father had gone into shock. Karak’s mother stayed while he…the child was taken to a children’s play room.

At the age of 9 Karak’s father had died, but life continued as per the norm. He went to school he’d come home and/or walk the streets and play around with friends. As his mother had to work back to be able to support themselves. Karak turned into much of what you’d call a delinquent, he’d hang out with older boys that took opportunities with shop owners and stole what they wanted. Karak didn’t live by his father’s last words until he grew to be mature and see the error in his ways around 1994. Having finished school with fairly average scores and nothing outstanding and through much talking with his mother and family friends Karak was convinced that he knew what he wanted to do with his life.

He’d join Britain’ armed services and provide for his mother, he didn’t have any other ideas of his own. So it was at the age of 19 Karak started service as little more than an infantryman. He continued on in service for about 7 years until a dark day approached. Through all those years of service he’d zoomed up the ranks from specialist to Corporal to Sergeant and even to Warrant officer despite only a small amount of service. While his mother grew deathly ill Karak was sent on what would be one of his last missions. Thought to be more of a small attack than anything else on a small building. Taking only a small contingent, Karak went himself. He grew tired of paperwork and rules. Two whole squads, all of them dead bar himself, the thing that keeps him awake at night through nightmares, the group of vampires that slaughtered them all.

Though they took down a few himself, these things just kept getting back up and through some intervention from above Karak had been spared. If not for anything than another shady party coming in and finishing the job on the freaks. He was advised against telling anyone of what had happened and offered a place amongst their ranks. The wild geese mercenaries? He’d never heard of them before? He refused and their apparent leader shrugged and feigned interest in Karak’s decision. Though from that day onward he was watched, even after the resignation he handed in a couple of days after. He was questioned but it didn’t last long because of an explanation from a third party organisation, who he didn’t ask but he didn’t care for that because his mother had just died. Grief followed and Karak went homeless for some time. Taking any small work he could find but nothing paid better than hired gun work. He kept clear from the geese though, or at least tried to. He was offered a number of other times before he finally conceded.

(Karak is now on his way to join up. Sorry if I offend anyone with my ignorance on English history)

RP sample: Karak let go of the breath he’d been holding since his group had been ambushed even under the cover of night and the storm rolling in, it sent a chill up his spine that they’d anticipated that he’d try this plan of attack. Glad that he’d prepared for this course of events, Karak crawled through the roots of the tree over to his comrade. “Any casualties?” he asked as he spared a glance through the bushes at the masked figures that had taken residence in the trees now. “None sir… squad c is moving into position now, awaiting your orders and no contact to report as of yet”. Karak frowned looking back at the figures in the trees, he’d tried getting a better look but had gotten a hail of bullets embedding themselves into the tree he’d been behind for his troubles. Perhaps it would be best to dispatch them now? Were there more or was this it? There had to be more…at least he had to assume that if he didn’t want to lose. So perhaps a diversion would be the best option, deal with them later? No…he didn’t want the guillotine above his head…

“Gerald”, Karak whispered, he received a nod in response from Gerald. “I want you to take Hames and circle around the left to group up with squad c, we can’t afford to let the opponent hold us here, more importantly you two,” he pointed to both Hames and Gerald who nodded their acknowledgment. “We’ll provide covering fire but from then we have to take them swiftly and hopefully regroup with you guys in time”, Karak paused a moment then tapped his earpiece, “squad c…Yuuji are you there?” There was a bit of static then, “hearing you loud and clear, when can we advance?” “No, not yet, we’ve come across a hurdle and we need to send the two needed around to meet up with you”, Karak kept his eye on the figures swaying in the trees, looking for any hint of movement. “Acknowledged”, came the voice again over the com.

As though in response to the end of the communication, the masked figures started to advance and open fire. “Awww come on…atleast have given me one fucking second”, Karak concluded with a bullet through the head of the nearest advancing figure. It dropped and didn’t get back up, while most if not the rest were mowed down by gunfire from his own squad, they proceeded to go back to ground while Gerald and Hames doubled back out and then took a wide berth around to where Yuuji’s squad lay in wait. Karak took a second when they went out of sight and then called over the comm “You’ve got them?” a quick buzz in reply and he gave a few hand signals to the rest of his squad. Some of them turned to face away from Yuuji’s group whereas others faced the front effectively setting up a mobile advance with eyes on every direction. They got up and started to move North-east from his position. He gave his consent to continue over the comm and then it all went silent as the radio chatter died down. This was where it got tricky, the house coming up was quite large to even be considered a house…rather a small factory, but nonetheless Karak had to be there first to provide a distraction or covering fire if needed, he would have hoped to be in the group diving in through the gutters to get inside and wreak havoc, but plans changed.

“We ready boys…and girls?” Karak remembered the female with them with a shake of his head. He gave a few hand signals to his group and the reformed into an offensive line with just one watching their six. They ducked down and waited for further orders as the radio buzzed with another quick confirmation. If they were in the right place then they should be just 38 metres to his right but at the mouth of a gutter ready to go at a moment’s notice. He gave a nod to his squad and they readied their weapons primarily existing of assault rifles of various shapes and sizes. Karak lifted his own semi-automatic rifle and let a couple loose through the front window. A wave of bullets soon followed from those in his squad hitting not too far off the initial mark. Karak was enjoying himself despite the situation, he’d been asked to take some mercs and raid this factory, but for what? He would have asked had he still been in service but no, he didn’t ask any questions he just did as he was told and would pick up the rest of his pay later on, perhaps even have a few drinks with the mercs he’d recruited? Perhaps… but those were thoughts for later.

Karak heard rather than saw Yuuji’s group picking their way into the sewage over the remnants of his group firing, he waited for any sign of movement in the windows as his group reloaded and prepared for another volley to keep the opponent’s head turned. He turned and pointed out the female and a male amongst his group and ordered them up onto the roofs to get more eyes on the enemy and another angle with which to fight. They silently picked their way amongst the roots of various trees and up the ladder on the side of the building. His group emptied half their clip into the building again and waited in silence. There was a quiet muttering coming from Karak’s direction “5…4…3…2…”, there was an explosion from inside the building and a flash of light from the windows. Therein began the gunfire and the thumps echoing from the walls where he assumed bodies were hitting the floor, this had been too easy…it wasn’t fun when this sort of thing didn’t provide a challenge. He’d hoped that the enemy would have surprised him in a way he hadn’t anticipated…but then…the results weren’t saying otherwise. He sighed, turned heel and triggered the comlink, “Get what we came for Yuuji and let’s get out of this dump”.
