Kieron Modra Vs Devlin Moriarty

The area is a largely wooded it is about 12:00 PM. Most of the Area is forest with numerous standing and fallen trees and miscellaneous foliage such as grass and plants. There is a river nearby that runs through the forest. The forest is full of sounds from the local wildlife from insects to birds. There is also a cave right beside the river no doubt the former/current home to a bear.

Grunts and growls could be heard coming from the cave. Something was going down in there, but no one could really place what. Until the fight spilled onto the forest floor, however; a gruff man was wrestling a bear, and he was winning. Pinning the bear to the ground, it struggled for a bit until tapping out, slapping its paw against the ground several times. "Good try, mate," the man said, the bear rolling up to its feet and walking back into its cave, head hanging low.

Dusting off his hands, the Australian took a stroll through the woods. The wrestling match was a good warm up, but he needed more to keep himself occupied. It wasn't time for him to sleep yet, either. Maybe he could chop down this forest to build a cabin.

Devlin was given a target from his superiors.  No description or anything.  The only order was, kill the first person you see at the location.  Devlin was uneasy about the vagueness of this particular mission.  But he wasn't going to question his orders.  He wanted to get this done because His favorite pub is having specials all week accompanied by live Irish Folk music groups.  But sadly work came first.  He heard sounds of a struggle, one was clearly a bear.  Devlin drew his pistol and had it ready to fire as he went up against a tree and put up his guard.  He wanted to know what the hell was going on but he also didn't at the same time.  He waited to see if anything was coming his way.

Hopefully there was a bar around; the bear wrestling worked up an appetite. He couldn't help feeling he was being watched, though. Probably just leftover feelings from being in the war. Even so, he couldn't help but be on guard. Maybe it was just the bear coming back for a rematch. He kept his hands on his guns, just to be safe, as he leisurely strolled through the clear path.

Devlin remained still as he heard faint footsteps getting louder and louder.  Devlin slowly pulled out his knife and waited.  He wanted to wait till the person was almost right next to him before attacking who or what ever this is.  As the footsteps became louder and more distinct he figured it was.  Devlin though about how he would attack and possible ways his opponent may react.  Devlin silenty said a quick prayer before the foot steps were close enough for Devlin to attack.  He quickly moved from out in front of the tree and performed and upward slash with his knife followed by a right hook with his pistol in the other hand.  Devlin figured they were too close for guns to be effective.

This fucker just tried to cut him. His outer coat was slashed open by the attack, the initial sound alerting him enough to take a step back preemptively. Smacked by the gun, he rolled in the air, landing on his back as he fired three shots from each gun he'd whipped out. "The fuck is wrong with you?" he shouted, firing twice more in his attacker's general direction as he got to his feet.

Devlin noticed a second too late at the man's hands were on his fire arms. Devlin leaped as quickly as possible to the side to get out of the way but he wasn't unscathed. Three of the bullets grazed him. one in the hip, and two on his legs. The wounds weren't lethal but could be a problem later if Devlin lets this fight go on too long.  He ran behind a tree for cover before returning fire with two shots from his pistol. The man's voice sound Australian as Devlin heard the comment.  "Don't take it personally Aussie, but my superiors want you dead,"  Devlin replied as two bullets grazed the tree.

Was this guy serious? "Fuck yeah I'm takin' this personally, you fucking Yobbo!" Diving behind a tree, the bullets missed him well. He got a good look as to where he was hiding and decided this fight wasn't going to last any longer. Putting away his firearms, he pulled out his smoke grenade, pulling the pin and tossing it into the clearing. As the white clouds billowed out of the small can, he took the swords off his back, heading into the cover to attack the man. Moving in a serpentine pattern, he hoped that any fire the priest sent his way would be lost in the smoke.

Devlin head the first bounce of the grenade and began a count down in his head when it would go off as he took out took out about half a pound of C4 and quickly primed it on the tree toward the bottom of the tree.  he noticed the smoke and grinned as he was happy that it wasn't a Frag. He ran into the smoke anticipating some form of attack.  Hept running through the smoke and a little deeper into the forest as he pressed the detonator on the C4.  He was dissappointed in himself for actually looking if his assumption was right or if even his opponent was close enough get.  For all Devlin knew his opponent could have ran away.

Though disorienting, the blast did not do much damage. At the moment of explosion, he on the arc of his pattern, about to come down again. It blew the smoke away, though, which was disappointing, but it did reveal his attacker was no longer there. The tree, too, was about to leave its post, as the blast weakened it enough to begin falling away from Kieron. What did he care, though? Seeing as the coward ran away, he'd just head back to the bear cave and take a nap. Sheathing his swords, he began to walk towards the cave, hearing the tree fall in the distance.

Devlins was a good distance away.  He stopped to take a breath and relax.  Heard a tree fall in the direction Devlin ran from.  Devlin hoped that the C4 had killed the man and if not the tree at least fell on him.  But this old priest new better than to make assumptions especially when it comes to making sure someone is dead.  He began to walk back to the area with pistol in hand in case his target was still there and waiting for Devlin to come back.  It didn't take him long to get back to where their first encounter happened.  Devlin saw the tree and the scorch marks from the explosions, but alas no body.  "Shit," Devlin said to him self as he started inspecting the area to see if he could pick up the aussie's trail.

Almost back to the cave, Kieron thought he heard something from behind. Spinning around with both his guns, he found nothing. Even so, it warranted investigation. Sneaking back within the cover of tree trunks, it wasn't long before he came upon the man who'd tried to blow him up earlier. Though it wasn't really in his nature to kill people anymore, this guy could be the exception; you don't just try to murder a bloke and then walk away. Taking aim, he fired three shots from each gun in the man's direction, aiming for the torso. After completing the attack, he ducked behind the tree he was using for cover, creeping deeper into the forest to take cover and try to lose the man, setting up for another sneak attack if he pursued.

As Devlin walk around the area looking for any signs, he found quite few signs for animals but not human.  He knew he wasn't paying attention to the ground because he hoped that things would actually be easy for once.  But that would be convenient and nothing is ever convenient.  Murphy's law seems to kick in when Devlin was was hit in his sides approximately 3 times total.  He dropped to the ground and rolled away to avoid anymore bullets if there were any.  He got up behind a tree and looked around to see the aussie running away.  Damn it all to hell, he must have came back because of the tree. Should've known better.  Devlin thought as he returned fire only to see the man gone.  Devlin thought about pursuing but he needed to tread carefully for any traps.  Devlin underestimated this man.  He now had to change his way of thinking in the fight.  Devlin went from tree to tree but a few yards away from the direct of the that his target disappeared in.  He stopped part way in when he noticed some birds on the ground about ten yards ahead and to the right of Devlin.  He picked up a rock and through it at the birds to spook them. The birds flew off.

Having gotten a good distance away, Kieron felt secure enough to stop and take cover. Noticing the birds fly not far off, he figured his opponent started to pursue. Cat and mouse, naturally, only the mouse happened to be decked out in guns and swords. Shimmying up the nearest tree, he holstered a gun to draw a sword, prepared for close and long range combat. Tucked in among the leaves, his green and grey clothing helping to camouflage, he waited for any signs of the old man come to find him. Once that happened, he was almost sure he'd be able to kill him.

Devlin went around where the birds where rather than walk through them.  He cautiously walked through the forest.  A little while in he holstered the pistol and took out his patriot.  He wished he had a sniper rifle to survey the area thoroughly but he just went with what he had.  He stopped and decided to set up a stick and a half of C4 on the ground.  He was expecting a sneak attack but didn't know from where.  At any rate he started making mental notes about how many paces and what direction from his set up so he could run back there quickly if needed.  Devlin held up his gun at the ready.  For a while he was offset by the fact nothing was happening.  This feeling only made him put his guard up more.

A tough shot it would be, but his attacker finally came into view. Aiming, he fired two shots at the man, not at any particular area due to the range. Hopping from the branch, he unloaded the last five bullets in Devlin's direction, slowing his fall some with the sword until he found a branch to land on. Hopping down from there, he again ran into the foliage, sheathing his sword to reload his gun, drawing his second after completing. Diving behind another tree, he kept watch for the man. Hopefully, he would take the bait and move in.

When Devlin heard the shot and dove behind the tree.  When the shots were done and jumped out out to fire a burst of bullets from his patriot at the merc as he saw him run into the foliage.  Devlin saw the swords and knew better to pursue.  only weapon he had was a knife and he wouldn't be able to keep up.  He went behind another tree back in the direction Devlin originally came from.  If someone was going to lead it would be Devlin.  He needed to gain the unofficial field advantage again.

Though he couldn't fault him for trying, Devlin's bullets missed their mark. It was no better after he went behind cover, either. Peeking out, he noticed the old fart try to run. He wasn't stupid enough to try and follow; he preferred being the mouse too much to part with the role. Running deeper into the forest in the opposite direction, he found a good place to rest. Putting away his guns, he jammed a long stick into the ground behind a large tree and wrapped his scar around the top, letting the end hang loose around the edge of the tree. Taking his guns out again, he hid inside a bush not far away to keep watch of the area. If the trap worked, he'd have this fight won and could go back to finding his friend the bear.

Devlin figured they were in a stalemate and stayed behind tree. Now how best to draw someone out? Devlin took a second to ponder on that fact. . They were each pinned to their current position knowing who ever made a move would probably be the dead man. This move was a bit risky, but it could work. He took out a stick of C4 and balled it up and set the detonator to a separate channel that wasn't on his little surprise earlier. The man ran deeper into the forest and Devlin cursed under his breath as he knew he would have to pursue if this fight were to end soon. Only thing was, waht was this guy planning. Figuring the man had gun ready to fire, because it was what Devlin would've done, He dove behind another tree in the direction the merc ran in and took cover.

This was always the most boring part of trapping; the wait. He wasn't sure where the old man was or whether he'd find the spot any time soon. There was a bitch of an itch on his left ass cheek, but he couldn't afford to scratch and give away his position.

While behind his current tree. He felt pain. Crap, forgot about those damn wounds He really hadn't noticed them until he was sitting here. Yay adrenaline rush, But now he was a little headachey from the blood loss and he had to something about that. He took off his shirt as silently as he could. And used it as a wrap around his Sides. He is really going to have to be careful with his aim. The Wrap would slow the bleeding but not by long. Devlin reckoned that he had at least 1-2 more hours before he would faint from blood loss. So now his choices are, Kill the bastard in a blaze of glory, get killed, or wait to die slowly from blood loss. Yay choices. Devlin readied himself again, with his "gift" for the aussie.

That itch was getting worse. Why wouldn't this fucker just move already? Maybe he should just climb another tree. A rabbit hopped by, sniffing at the stick he'd hung his scarf on before bounding away. He was starting to get hungry, too. When this was all over, he'd have to track down that rabbit.

Devlin moved to another tree in the direction the merc ran in.  He wasn't going to sit around for his death.  If he were to die today, It's going to be a fight.  Now Devlinw as going to do something he would shoot a student for.  If he survived he's going to have to loosen up on the trainees.   "Hey Aussie, lets cut this crap and end this.  You up for some hand to hand? I promise I won't shoot you or try to blow you up. Devlin Yelled from behind a tree.  If the merc took him up, he was happy.  If the merc decided to rush Devlin, well he could give him his gift.

Though he was still a ways off, Kieron heard the old fart's proposition. Warrior style, and all. Moving from the bush, he grabbed his scarf off the stick and re-wrapped it around his neck. Taking cover behind trees, he quietly moved until the man was in view. Raising a pistol from behind, he finally spoke. "Drop the guns, old man. Coat, too." If he complied with the demands, he'd be more than willing to take this to close range; he'd even make it more interesting and toss the guy a sword. If not, then the back of his head would have a new orifice.

Devlin heard the a stick from behind him as he turned around casually.  Both hands raised he dropped his ball of C4 and placed the detonator on the ground and kicked it to the side carefully so it didn't accidentally set it off but then, it would've been hilarious if a squirrel set it off.  He took both of his hadnguns,  the Hush Puppy and his lethal one and set them on the ground.  He took his knife and threw it at a tree and it stuck a good 2 inches in.  He took his patriot and  revolver and set it down.  he took off his jacket and also set it down.  He turned back to the merc.  "you're turn"

This guy was either incredibly stupid or needed some kind of harness in his pants to hold his balls off the ground (thought that could just be from the aging process). "Little excessive, don't you think?" Pointing the gun at the detonator, he fired one shot, breaking the thing so there wouldn't be any sort of foul play. After that, he took both his guns off to set them on the ground, drawing both swords as he walked closer. Stabbing one into the ground, he backed up a ways, not turning around or losing focus. "Thought this would make things a bit more interesting than a bloody fist fight." Tossing his machete between his hands, he settled on the right and pointed it towards the man. Once he took the weapon, he'd go on the attack.

Devlin caught the blade by the handle and moved to block the incoming attack.  He took a defensive stance looking more to counter attacks rather than attack himself. he needed to be careful because if he was too aggressive he would bleed out faster than anticipated.  He started to move to the side in a circular motion keeping his focus on his opponent. Particularly the shoulders and hip being ready to block and counter if possible.

This guy wasn't totally inept with a blade. That would make it much more fun. Slashing towards the side, his opponent would either need to guard or die. If he did that, he'd take the opening made and shift around to swipe his leg out from under him. Hopefully, if he went down as planned, he'd be able to take a downward stab into the man's stomach.

I am conceding this fight, primarily because I start work soon, and I am going to be too tired to carry this along.  And even not Devlin's current conditions would've only allowed him a few more posts before he became too weak from blood loss
