Gerolf Baer Empty
PostSubject: Gerolf Baer    Gerolf Baer EmptyWed Jul 24, 2013 12:24 am

Going to replace Karak Tanasi, due to lack of amusement

Have you see the OVA or read the manga series of Hellsing?  If so how far have you gotten?  If not please direct your attention to YouTube, and watch OVA 1-4 at least.  Warning: If you have watched the anime we require you watch the OVA, or read the manga.  The anime is not canon.  This is not our opinion.  This is the law set down by the creator of Hellsing, Kouta Hirano. finished it all, watched it all, read it all, couple of times over at that

Name: Gerolf Baer

Age: 94 seemingly early 30s

Gender: Male

Physical appearance: This seven foot two 263 pound giant black haired German is not your every day average man, obviously. His rather pale skin doesn't really stand out among the ranks, his hair is in a buzz cut, rather short but easy enough to see the colour. His muscular build does however stand out, especially when he is a couple of heads taller than most of his comrades. Rippling muscle spans across his chest and broad shoulders, pretty much displayed whenever he is not wearing official uniform and other such moments. His forearms and hands are equally as large in proportion, looking capable of squishing heads between his two hands, of which he is perfectly capable of.

White scars cover his knuckles and forearms, each one of them varying in length and seriousness. There doesn't seem to be any order to the chaos of scars covering them, and as such could just be passed off as battle scars per se. Other minor scars cover the rest of his body but don't seem to be in such a quantity. His green eyes seem dead most of the time, usually staring off into the distance or not registering movement. During combat situations however, his eyes never cease moving, taking in everything around him to work at his absolute best. His mouth is much the same way in that it doesn't change much in its thin judgmental line unless in combat. Broken quite a few times before transition and after, Gerolf's nose now resembles a crooked line straight down with the jagged corner it has remained in for some time making it look larger than it actually is. Gerolf's legs are pretty much the same as the rest of his body, muscled and looking as equally capable of violence as the rest of the man that is Gerolf Baer.

Clothing of choice: With Baer's rough teenage years, it comes as no surprise that his choice of clothing goes against standard dress protocol. Maybe out of spite or maybe just because it is more comfortable. Gerolf will be most commonly found in pretty average black singlet that is a tight fit, stretched across his muscly build. Generally tucked in under a black leather belt wrapped tightly and efficiently around green standard issue combat cargo pants. The belt itself clips together with a silver coloured rectangle shaped buckle with an intricate carving that features the kriegsmarine eagle and nothing else.

The belt also holds Baer's luger holster on his right hip and his horizontally placed knife on his lower back, both are strapped tight onto the belt. On his feet along with heavy woolen socks, are black leather and laced combat boots. However when it comes to being in the presence of millenium's charismatic leader and other notable figures, he is sure to use a grey formal military cap displaying his rank and featuring the kriegsmarine insignia (eagle holding the nazi symbol in it's talons). Over his usual singlet, he wears a formal black jacket with silver double buttons and a large collar.

Weaponry of choice: Baer's choice of weaponry much resembles his personality and mind set. Knuckle dusters and his fists being the most common, breaking someone's jaw never ceases to put him at ease and the feeling can't quite be replicated by much else. Made of reinforced carbon steel, Baer's knuckle dusters have significantly more durability in his hands than most others that have bent in his grip. The increased flattened surface on the delivering side of the punch allows for more durability as well as more spread bone fractures and organ and tissue disruption.

Baer's brass knuckles:

Though it doesn't see as much use as his Knuckle dusters do, Baer's Kampfmesser 2000 is a source of pride in some ways. Liking the improvements that they have made, allowing more durability, use and generally damage. Specs are as follows;30.2 cm Blade length: 17.2 cm Blade thickness: 5 mm Weight: 330 grams. Forged from high quality Boehler steel with a tanto tip increasing its structural capacity and making it capable of punching through a bullet proof vest.

Baer's combat knife:

Firearms aren't really a necessity for Baer, always preferring the close combat approach. Though in most cases a firearm is needed, though the only firearm on his person majority of the time is his luger P08 semi-automatic pistol with 9*19mm parabellum cartridges 8 round magazines (5 of them). Usually always found strapped on his belt along with his knife. When the need arises he usually raids the armory or 'borrows' other firearms off of his fellow blood sucking Nazis.

Race: FREAK, category F

Abilities: The weakest of vampires, often seen as the beginners, and often the cannon fodder, easily killed and nothing much to hunt down. These creatures aren't really a threat to professional supernatural hunting organizations, but nonetheless, they are still deadly to the human, and possess a large number to make up for.
Traits: Regeneration may take an extremely long amount of time for major damage (ie: 15 posts), meager supernatural strength, agility, stamina, durability, and reflexes, great weakness to silver and blessed weaponry to a point its fatal to be hit by one, easily killable just as a human is, ability to turn non-virgins into very weak ghouls, susceptible to unblessed damage (still fatal to them), the need to drink blood often, weakness to sunlight (as in they burn).

All of Baer's physical attributes allow him to overpower most of even his own category, however this is also due to his reach and size as well. His skill in hand to hand combat is unmatched among those of his category, even pushing it as far as to outmatch an untrained  category D vampire in such a fight. His many years of training and implementation of Kampfringen and military style training in survival and unarmed fighting techniques allow him to do feats such as this with ease. Gerolf has without a doubt, had his fair share of combat situations and can see through most tactics allowing him to outmaneuver his enemy. The same holds true for his ability with most firearms, mostly including full automatic machine guns, shotguns and pistols. He has been trained to use most every weapon, though sniper rifles are still a puzzle for him. More due to the preference for guns that don't require a lot of aim to maim or kill. He speaks fluent German and his English is not the best (being restricted to common words that are often pronounced incorrectly).

Organization: Millenium

Personality:Being the over active Nazi that he is, Gerolf has a superiority complex. Though this is mostly shown through his actions rather than words. As being as thick as he is, he runs out of words often enough for it to be of note. Out of combat he is rather stoic and indifferent, preferring to go hit some punching bags or willing comrades during his down time, during combat Gerolf gets excited relatively easily, the mere sight of blood enough to flick his 'on switch' per se. Baer is a sadist through and through, often simply lengthening a fight to injure his opponent as much as possible to see the pain written on their faces before the kill. This has earned many a reproach and has, among his low intelligence stopped him from ranking up any more than he currently has. As per these things, any conversation with someone he doesn't know (or does) usually ends up in Gerolf getting frustrated with big words words and resisting the urge to hit something.

Rank: Scharfuhrer

Biography: Baer was brought into a messed up world somewhere during 1910, both his mother and father were young, stupid...heavily in love. He was never in one household for too long because of his father's decision to distance himself from the boy (due to alcohol and violent outburst problems). His last stop was his grandparents house out in the country side within the first couple of years of his childhood, they knew of the situation but didn't try to change it, they'd already had bad moments with his parents and didn't want any more trouble than they'd already had. They were somewhat kind and tried to teach Gerolf some discipline and all the essentials to live in the world he'd come into. Gerolf didn't see his parents for a good six or seven years, what with the war going on and all. At which point he had all but forgotten about them, his grandparents going out of their way to stamp the memories out of him. He was the laborer around the house, chopping firewood, cleaning the gutters, tending the garden and other such tasks. He was always kept busy...

Educated to the best of their knowledge, Baer really did try, but during his teens was when it all went bad. His father turned up, drunk as all hell when his grandparents refused to let him see Gerolf, they were gunned down. The gunshots resonated with Gerolf, something in him clicked. Despite not seeing the deaths, Baer understood well enough though. Not knowing who it was, Gerolf smashed down the back door to the home with a shovel in hand and beat his father to death. He would never know who it was, nor did he think he'd ever want to. To be honest, he'd never given it much thought after the rage left him.

He'd buried his grandparents with an air of ceremony about it, shed a few tears, but never moved his father's body. Gerolf grabbed all his things and had left within the week, not knowing where he would end up, not caring. He took to the streets, never knowing where his next meal would come from nor where he would lay his head of a night time, even if he would. His only constant possessions for the next couple of years were his grandfather's knife and the clothes on his back.

Times were horrible, he would often starve and sometimes had to kill to wake up of a morning. No emotion was shown at these deaths, he had to survive, and survive he did. He made friends in low places and contacts for things he needed. Stealing money and food become life for him, often running into trouble with local security but usually getting off the hook due to more pressing matters bigger than his own. At the age of twenty five he was conscripted into the Kriegsmarine, violently. It appeared that a few higher ups had taken note of Baer's contact with the local security and had acted on curiosity and the need for men.

It was the first time, Baer actually done something without complaint (after everything had been explained to him). He was part of many a combat, but none more so than the action in the Mediterranean sea. He aided in the sinking of a couple of ships, remaining determined, quiet and focused despite initial confusion amidst the ranks. A trait which earned him slight recognition in the higher ups. Recognition which wasn't acted on until late 1943, when he was taken with the Letztes battalion. Baer still didn't give a crap where he was or what he was doing, in fact he seemed to enjoy it to some extent. Following the end of the war, Gerolf has taken a more keen approach to return the favor to those who sought to rid the world of Nazi Germany.

RP sample: Slow, calculated breathing signaled that Heris was still alive after that blast, dust kicked up into Baer's face once more as he leant down to pull Heris out of the hole the grenade had made. By all rights he could have just left and ignored the other freak sitting on his ass down among the rubble, despite the thought it only took a few moments for both to be running again. Guns blazing into the grunts sitting behind cover taking shots every now and then from behind the stone, more a distraction than any threat whatsoever. If it had proven to be a threat, Gerolf wouldn't be doing what he was doing. A few quickly placed steps put him in front of the stone they were hiding behind. Someone off to his left screamed out and for his trouble was put down by a shot from Heris. Only a few moments notice was all the guys behind the stone had before hands smashed through the stone and if the flying rock didn't kill them, Baer's hands around their throats and crushing them did.

Small bits of gunfire was sent his way from far off to his right, but much too far with those sub-machine guns to be of any use to the wielders. If they were smart, they wouldn't be there when Baer got out of this building in front of him. Then...even if they weren't smart, the squad assigned that street would pick them off if all went to plan anyway. Gerolf didn't stop once as he tossed the bodies to the side, both hitting inanimate objects and both meaty thuds signaling that they were definitely dead. "How many do we need?" came the quietly asked question as both men went into the two storey building fully expecting resistance.

The bark of gunfire from the second floor window brought a smile to Gerolf's face, made him think that whatever god existed really liked him if the path they had been given held this many adversaries. Under different circumstances he would have toyed with them for hours on end to watch as their psyche slowly deteriorated, but time was of the essence here, there would be no play time.

"Just a handful, the rest are free to be engaged and neutralized", Heris replied with a disinterested tone. The gunfire from the window was ineffective to say the least, for starters, Gerolf was much too close to the house for the upper stairs to see much, that and Gerolf had already kicked the door in for it to fly across the room cracking dozens of bones and smearing blood where the unhinged door finally stopped. Gunfire came from many different guns ripped apart the space Baer had been moments earlier. Moving much faster than what many of the soldiers inside were, he tore a shotgun out of one's hands, crushed the wielder's head with the swiftly placed butt end of the gun, used it to shoot three of the guy's comrades in quick succession and watched as the last three were cut down by Heris and his semi-auto assault rifle.

His supernatural hearing told him none but the tiniest of heartbeats no filled the room, the rest were upstairs crying out and squabbling amongst themselves as to how to handle the situation.  'Little piggies for the slaughter', he thought to himself as the grin from outside had never left his face. The stairwell was at least somewhat barricaded, proved some competence, if they even knew what they were up against. Dropping the previously acquired shotgun at the foot of the stairs, Gerolf retrieved his knife from the back of his belt. With his free hand, he tore at the debris and improvised barricades with wild abandon, at least he would derive some pleasure from hearing their despair. 'Lo and behold, their frightful shouts came in mixed English, some words he understood, but not something he could take amusement in.

Disappointing really, Gerolf finally ripped apart the last of the barricades blocking him from the  second floor and bounced off one of the walls in a single bound to land on the top step. Mere metres away from a guy with nothing but a pistol, Gerolf winked once before the man was decapitated and he was moving amongst the men in the room. The tip of the knife cut into the tender flesh of behind the knee for the machine gun wielding trigger happy, that sprayed bullets into the Ceiling and the knife found his eye socket as soon as he went down. Using the lodged knife as leverage, Gerolf threw the body with a single breath toward the window where the girl with the machine gun aiming out the window was smashed out along with her dead comrade. Heris gunned put a shot into the grenade one of them was holding on the far end of the room, subsequently blowing up a few more. Gerolf quickly disarmed the remaining four and had them face down on the ground in a matter of seconds. One of them had drifted into unconsciousness but otherwise unharmed.

"Waris 651b, reporting", Baer confirmed in thick German as he pressed two fingers to the headset he was wearing. "Acknowledged, status?" across the feed a static voice came through, to which Baer responded "Operation complete on this end". There was small pause even as Gerolf watched the man beneath his boot shake, or was that a pathetic attempt to escape? Not too sure, he didn't pay it any mind and waited for a reply across the hedset. By this time Heris was already looting bullets and the like from among the dead, "Acknowledged, proceed, Wotan out"

Could use an apparent age. Unless he actually looks 94, in which case I applaud the fact he actually ages.

Why are you a giant? You are taller than Alucard.

You say that you can see his color despite being buzzed, but you never tell us what that color is.

No facial details given. This man has no face. He is the Question.

What kind of shapes? Can't just expect me to leave it there; I demand to know! He should probably have a jacket and cap, though, for formal things, otherwise he'll be Nazi'd for being a shit.

I don't like you saying you can beat D vampires in a fight. That shouldn't happen in a straight up fist fight.

Cool to see someone who's legitimately stupid for a change. That being said, this needs more detail. It's lacking in most aspects outside of how he fights and talks to others. What does he like to do and what is he like on his own?

Dats messed up, yo.

Really, though. Why did his parents just leave him there, and why didn't his grandparents try to resist? It's kind of a big deal when your kid, even one you don't like, walks up and punts a baby at your house.

I don't think he could leave "within the week" of three people dying in the house. He'd need to be out of there right fucking then or else he'd be involved with the police.

I can see how he'd get away because of bigger stuff happening, but writing that he's murdered people kind of undermines that. What's going on that's more important than taking in a guy who'd kill you in a second?

Tod said mostly everything that needed to be said and everyone making a new oc has to have a count of ammo. Just makes things better for everyone around. I agree as well on the heat that's pushing it especially on the joints. Even if you are a freak or vampire putting all the activity and such on those long limps will eventually take a toll if you push yourself too much.

Doesn't seem like Serin has updated the sheet to address the concerns Tegs and John listed. Give a holler whenever it's updated and I'll happily vote on it. This guy reminds me of Mr. Golden Luger Neo Nazi from Black Lagoon.

@Todd

apparent age is being dealt with

take your pick of first sentence of the paragraph
"This seven foot two 263 pound giant black haired German..."
or the second of the paragraph
"His rather pale skin..."

not sure if this first question is actually serious or not-"Why are you a giant? You are taller than Alucard."
He has eyes...there's a start, lol... being dealt with

"What kind of shapes?"-not sure what you mean by this, rest of this is being dealt with

bullets are being dealt with

abilities-mistake on my part, being fixed

Personality-...hrm, I supposr I could add a sentence or two but really don't see how it changes things

Bio-second question-old age, what're they going to do? throw the baby back at them? get the unfit parents to look after him?

...not every part of Germany was a metropolis back then... -.-

local security is going to care that one bum killed another?

@Tegs

again, minor mistake of words, I do agree however

@Andy

you had to make that connection? Razz

It's just that making characters absurdly tall is really cliche' for this fandom and would be pretty unhealthy for the person if they were actually that large.

You mention his buckle has a bunch of stuff carved into it. I want to know what those shapes are.

Take him to a shelter? Get the government involved? It can happen, but I'm just wondering why it did.

Wasn't saying that. Murder isn't just something you can cover up, though. Not sure why he decided to hang around the rotting corpses, either.

Anyone killing anyone should be a big deal. Not for who was killed, but for the fact that this hobo has weapons and will cut your throat if you get within arm's reach.

I get your point, but it is manageable, unless you want to disagree

k, fixing that now

fixed that

kid moved around too much, ended up with lasting effects throughout his life...that and he's not the brightest pick

it was a depression stage in the country, poverty was rampant, bums aplenty, scavenging for anything, finding whatever solution that came to mind. a bum that had what? a knife? not sure the security would want to track down one lonely old bum for defending himself as many others would have during the time.

Compromise: Killing is cool, just make it so no one is around to see this. If you do that for me, you get
