This is a crossover character of Roland Deschain, from Stephen King's seven-book series The Dark Tower
Have you see the OVA or read the manga series of Hellsing? If so how far have you gotten? If not please direct your attention to youtube, and watch OVA 1-4 at least. Warning: If you have watched the anime we require you watch the OVA, or read the manga. The anime is not canon. This is not our opinion. This is the law set down by the creator of Hellsing, Kouta Hirano.
I watched the entire series (both Anime and OVA) and read the manga. I also read the entirety of Crossfire and The Dawn (or what of it that exists thusfar).
Name: Roland Deschain.
Age: 37
Gender: Male.
Physical appearance: Roland stands an unnerving 6,2 feet tall and weighs in at 192lbs. His hair is very dark brown and is combed back from his forehead, the full length of it reaching the base of his skull. The calm and observant globes that rest in his eye-sockets could be considered either light grey or silver.
Roland could be described as having a healthy or muscular build - somewhere inbetween, at least. His tanned torso carries three small yet visible scars where he suffered gunshot, and the pinky and ring fingers of his left hand are missing (rendering his aiming and firing skills with that hand inferior to his right).
Roland's expression carries a weariness that would be interpreted as an 'Despite-being-in-my-late-thirties-I've-seen-way-too-much' stare. In reality, he is merely incredibly observant of anyone who he talks to, watching their eyes and posture for any hint of lying. His cold glare would cause many would-be chatters to think twice before approaching him.
Clothing of choice: (What your character normally wears... or not wear at all. Doesn't have to be long in description.)
Weaponry of choice:
Name: Revolvers of the Eld.
Appearance: The two weapons are identical in appearance; .44 Magnum Revolvers with yellowish-brown handles fashioned out of Sandalwood. The metal of the weapons were supposedly smelted from the blade of Roland's great great (time 29)th Grandfather - Arthur Eld. The blade was thought to have been named Excalibur (Note: This does not give the weapons any magical powers, etc).
Due to every descendant of Eld having been taught how to maintain firearms, the weapons remain in the same condition they were in directly after having been crafted. The barrels of both guns are ten inches long.
The Revolvers are usually found in holsters on Roland's hips.
Unique Qualities: These weapons were built with the intention of taking down one's foes as quickly as possible. To this end, the shots have a large stopping power, but relatively little recoil in the hands of a trained Gunslinger. Also, bullets can be fired just as fast as Roland can pull the trigger - at the cost of larger recoil and reduced accuracy, of course.
Roland has, over the years, developed a technique for reloading both weapons at the same time, with one hand each. This is achieved by keeping the weapon still with his thumb and ring finger, whilst using his middle and index fingers to insert the bullets into the chambers. After a few unlucky encounters with Vampires in Roland's past, he tends to carry silver bullets on his person at all times.
Name: Oriza Dishes.
Appearance: Named after the Mid-World Goddess of Rice, Lady Oriza, the Oriza dish was created as a stealthy means of dismembering an enemy - after all, who expects to be killed by a dinner plate?
The Oriza is round and relatively flat, with sea-blue pictures of rice engraved around it. A few inches of the engraving on one side seems to be different from the others, with the ears of rice looping around one-another tightly; This is the area of the plate that one should grip, as it is slightly thicker than the other sections. The rim of the dish has been fashioned into a round, razor-sharp blade - except on the grip - while there is a small hole directly in the centre to produce a buzzing noise when the Oriza is thrown.
Roland was granted this as a gift after his visit to a town named Calla Byrn Sturgis, where Oriza Throwing was recognised as a sport, as well as a killing method.
Race: Special Human.
Abilities:
Expert Marksmanship: With his right hand and partially with his left, Roland's accuracy exceeds that of most normal humans. He rarely misses his mark and almost always aims to kill.
This profession was brought about by eight years of being taught the ways of the Gunslingers: Aiming not with the hand, but with the eye. Shooting not with the hand, but with the mind. Killing not with the hand, but with the heart.
This skill could, like many of his traits, be considered very cowboy-like in nature.
Survivalist: Roland is an expert at survival in the wild; capable of riding horses, hunting for food, fashioning clothing out of animal skins, tracking etc. Perhaps the most useful trait of this is that Roland can move through forest underbush as sure-footedly as on wooden floorboards - making very little sound.
Firearms Expert: Roland is capable of keeping his weapons in pristine condition through regular polishing, mechanism replacing and other upkeeping techniques. He is also capable of dismantling and reassembling most weapons within a few minutes. Even unknown weapons would only require mild tinkering with to learn how the mechanisms work.
Organization: N/A
Personality: As mentioned in the appearance section, Roland would at first glance seem to be cold and uncaring. However, his mood swings all depend on the current state of his affairs. If things are going badly, Roland will become sharp and fierce - albeit fair - towards anyone who enters a conversation with him. On a 'good' day, however, he would come off as the perfect gentleman; acting polite and caring to most around him.
Despite these seemingly pleasant traits, Roland would treat anyone who would presume to deter him from his goals the same way that a Heroin addict would treat concerned parents - badly. One of Roland's past accomplices once referred to him as a 'Victory Junkie'. The worst-case scenario of Roland's obsession was revealed in allowing a comrade to 'die' whilst in pursuit of a rival - choosing to let a friend die rather than give up his chase.
In conversation, Roland will often use phrases such as 'Thee' instead of you, 'Aye' instead of yes, adding 'So it does/is' to the end of sentences, and many more mannerisms that he picked up from his travels around his own world (the latter two of the examples were picked up from his universe's version of Irish people). There are also many words of his own language that he could accidentally drop unknowingly into a conversation, making it mildly awkward for the person on the receiving end.
In most situations - excluding battle - Roland would be considered incapable of thinking outside of the box, always spending a large amount of time solving riddles that were proposed to him, or finding it difficult to work his way out of a tricky situation. Inside of battle, however, Roland truly shines. The principles taught to him in his training to become a Gunslinger prove invaluable in almost any combat situation - he rarely needs to think outside of the box with his level of skill.
Rank: Gunslinger.
Biography: (Has to be at least 2 paragraphs long. Must outline how you lived and how you came to become what you are today, not everyone was born a vampire or werewolf, so you must say your origins, and neither can you be born into an organization just like that, unless you were raised in Anderson's orphanage, but then that'll be an entirely different story.)
RP sample: (This applies to all members and the sample needs to be 3 posts long minimum, and will include the style of your RPing, and a segment of a battle post.)
